Submitting to a Call For Entry
Display your art at Academy Art & Frame Company in Colorado Springs, CO
One easy way to have your art displayed at our gallery is to join one of our monthly open calls for entry. Our monthly art exhibits feature local art and a reception for guests. For current call for entry information go to our Call for Entry page.
Our annual art exhibits are a great opportunity for new artists to have their work seen by the public. Some of our annual open call exhibits include:
- April: Art Aloud
- July/August: How Do You See God?
- September: Miniatures
Additionally, we have annual art group exhibits. You must be members of the group and follow their guidelines for submission. Some of these include:
- February: Peak Digital Imaging Society Photo/Digital Image Exhibit
- March: Colorado Photography Learning Group Exhibit
- December: High School Ceiling Tiles
All work that is accepted for display must meet specific criteria as well.
MUST have wire to hang. This is for the protection of your work, the work of our other artists, and our customers. Sawtooth hangers will not be accepted with exception of miniatures (4×6 and smaller) but wire still preferred.
Wire must be attached to hangers on the FRAME. Wire attached to backing boards in frames will not be accepted. Eye screws acceptable for small pieces with little weight. 2 or 4 hole hangers with wire is preferred method. Medium to large D-rings acceptable if they “hook” in the middle. Smaller triangle d-rings or triangle-rings not accepted.
Dry mounted and laminated images without frame can be displayed but must have wire on the back. Please see our samples in store. Hangers must be properly glued/attached to be accepted.
Mats and glass must be clean and well cut. Please no dust, animal hair or bugs under glass. No finger prints or halo image on glass.
Frame must be clean and well maintained. No major dents, chips or scratches.
We do not expect you to have your work professionally framed but we do expect a professional presentation. The quality of your presentation reflects on your work, on you as an artist, and on us.
