Urbanes “Van” Van Bemden has been taking photos most of his adult life. As a teenager he started out with a Kodak Instamatic. Early in his adult life he mostly took family photos. Then it gradually moved into taking photos while traveling around the country during annual vacations.With the advent of the digital cameras it became much cheaper to take lots of pictures. He loves traveling and he’s had the good fortune to travel over much of the world and visit many places. Many of his favorite photos were taken while pursuing his favorite pastimes. Although he does do “Street Photography” his favorite type is “Landscape Photography”. With readily available access to computer editing software like Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop one of his specialties is creating Panorama photos. He is an avid skier and hiker, having hiked all of Colorado’s fourteeners. He is now retired, and he and his wife, Brenda, live in Colorado Springs enjoying the beauty all around them.
